Corrugated gable boxes give you a built-in handle, a pitched roof and fluted board that holds its shape under weight. Hale Path Packaging prints custom gable boxes with a logo for bakeries, gift brands and takeout menus, using the know-how behind our cardboard pizza boxes.
A corrugated gable box carries its whole load through one folded handle, so the board must stay stiff where it bends. That is where gable box handle strength comes from: the fluted middle layer resists sagging. A full cake, a bottle set or a gift hamper sits inside without the roof dropping. Every size is checked against the weight it will carry, and the handle width is set to match.
Paperboard gable boxes suit cupcakes and party favors. Corrugated board can hold more weight than plain card. Inside it is a wavy layer called the flute. Each wave works like a small arch and carries the load. E-flute is about 1.6 mm thick and prints cleanly. B-flute is about 3 mm thick and holds more weight. Each sample is loaded and carried by the handle before production. Choose kraft gable boxes for a natural look or a white liner when colors must stay bright. For loads a gable should never lift, see our heavy-duty shipping cardboard boxes.
When corrugated gable boxes come back with a roof that will not stay closed, the gable box tab lock is rarely the culprit. The slot is. Thicker board pushes the tab into a slot cut a touch too tight, and the roof springs back off the lock within minutes on a warm counter. Now every slot is cut against the real flute thickness, the same check behind our custom corrugated boxes. A dry-fit sample is left closed overnight before the die is approved.

Corrugated Gable Boxes get handled more than most packaging. Fingers grip the same panels, and corners knock into car doors. Flexo printing on kraft gives a bold, earthy look. It also hides light scuffs. Litho-laminated white board gives sharper detail, which suits gift brands. Put your logo on the panel that faces out when someone carries the box. Custom printed gable packaging looks best when the ink colors also match our Custom Collectible Coin Boxes.
Bakeries and takeout counters are the obvious home, and corrugated gable boxes for bakery orders keeps frosting off the walls. Farmers market vendors pack jam and bread sets in them, and wedding planners hand them out as party favor gable boxes. Office teams order them for catered lunches, and gift shops fill them for holiday hampers, often as a gable box with window. Hot, saucy menus suit our custom Chinese food boxes better, while a takeout gable box covers dry items. Food-safe liner options are available, and the liner is confirmed against your actual product before the order is placed.
Hale Path Packaging has spent seven years learning where custom boxes go wrong, so the dieline is checked against your product before printing starts. Runs of wholesale corrugated gable boxes begin at 100 units, and most jobs arrive 7 to 14 working days after proof approval. If minimums are new to you, our guide on how minimum order quantities work explains the pricing. Send your product dimensions and weight, and we will confirm the flute first.

It is a carry box with a pitched roof that folds into a handle, made from fluted board instead of thin paperboard. That extra structure lets a corrugated carry box hold heavier products, and it ships flat until you need it.
Corrugated board has three layers. A wavy sheet sits between two flat ones. This wavy layer is called the flute. It makes the box hard to bend or crush. Paperboard is lighter and thinner. It prints fine detail well. That makes it a good fit for small favours. Pick corrugated when you need heavy-duty gable boxes for real weight.
A bag needs a separate box inside for anything soft or tall. A gable box with handle replaces both and keeps frosting away from the sides. For dry goods and light retail items, a bag can always be important.
Measure your product at its widest and tallest points. Then add a quarter to a half inch of spare room. This lets it slide in without rattling. These numbers become the size of your gable box. Before the full run, we test-fit a sample with your product.
Vector PDF files give the cleanest print. Send us your logo and brand colors. We will place them on a dieline, which is the flat template of your gable box. You will see the layout before anything is printed.
Humidity softens all board, and coastal areas like the Gulf Coast feel it most. For humid regions, ask for a coated liner and store spare boxes flat in a dry room. Our sample checks include a damp-air test, so you know how yours will behave.
Gable boxes are built for carrying, so they suit local delivery and hand-off. If you ship parcels across states, pack the gable box inside an outer carton. Sorting hubs are rough on parcels. The carton keeps the handle and roof from getting crushed.
Yes, plain corrugated is accepted in most US curbside programs, which makes recyclable gable boxes an easy choice. Panels soaked with grease should go in the compost or trash instead, so we suggest a liner when food touches the board.
